NM-IBIS

New Mexico's Public Health Data Resource

In an effort to help guide policy decisions, respond to the need for accurate and timely information to assess New Mexico’s public health and to aid in the planning, implementation and evaluation of New Mexico’s public health, the New Mexico Health Policy Commission (HPC) has teamed up with the New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) to provide access to public health datasets and information on New Mexico's priority health issues.  We are very excited about this collaboration to provide the State of New Mexico's Indicator Based Information System for Public Health (NM-IBIS) .   The NM-IBIS is a system resulting from the need to:

  • Track and evaluate progress toward goals.
  • Guide policy decisions, priorities and long-range strategic plans.
  • Develop, focus, and streamline data collection and reporting capacity.
  • Provide comprehensive information of New Mexico's health and health care system.
  • Develop policy that supports the health of populations,
  • Assure access to health care and the quality of that care, and
  • Assess the health status of the population.
